African Lion

Panthera leo

Average Lifespan: Up to 15 years.


Diet: In the wild, lions eat wildebeests, antelopes, and zebras.

Geography: Africa, south of the Sahara

Babies: Lions usually have between 1 and 4 cubs every 2 years and are pregnant for 4 months.

Conservation Status: Not endangered


Interesting Fact: Females do most of the hunting for the pride while males protect the females and cubs.

Early Risers! Sometimes our lions can be heard roaring as early as 5 o’clock in the morning.
