Turtle Talk with Sy Montgomery

Join us in “shell-abrating” World Turtle Day at the Zoo as we host naturalist/author Sy Montgomery and illustrator Matt Patterson. These “turtle-y” passionate folks will talk turtles during this exclusive stop on the tour promoting their latest collaboration, The Book of Turtles.

The Book of Turtles is a picture book that’s suitable for adults and kids. It’s filled with Matt’s lifelike art and astounding facts about turtle evolution, turtle talents, celebrity turtles, and extreme turtles – did you know the spiny softshell turtle can outrun a 10-year-old child on the 100-yard dash? And of course, you’ll learn how you can help protect turtles in this love letter to chelonians.

This event is free, but reservations are required. Non-alcoholic beverages will be served and copies of Sy and Matt’s new book will be available for purchase. Event will be held in the Zoo’s Discovery Pavilion.
