The Charles Darwin Research Station, Mashpi Rainforest Biodiversity Reserve, and coastal stops along the way allow you to get an up-close look at animals seen nowhere else in the world, and at active restoration and research stations where staff are hard at work preserving the amazing indigenous wildlife in this part of the planet. 

The optional extension to Peru will steer you to Lima, where you'll tour the capitol city and other historical sites, including Machu Picchu.
