Field Trip Options

Add one or more of these options to make it a field trip they won’t forget.

These age-appropriate, hands-on activities, and animal encounters enhance any field trip!

Animal Senses  This exploration of animals’ special senses is 45 minutes long and filled with activities that challenge students’ relatively limited senses of smell and hearing. An encounter with a “creepy crawly” animal is included in this program.

Cost: $4/student, $3/adult

Fantastic Giraffes  This 45-minute program is an interactive overview of giraffe anatomy and conservation efforts. No animal encounter; we suggest pairing with Giraffe Feeding!

Cost: $3/student, $2/adult

Inside Scoop  This animal-diet focused program lasts 45 minutes and includes a kitchen tour, a hands-on study of mammal dentition, and a bird beak morphology activity. No animal encounter; we suggest pairing with Barnyard Feeding!

Cost: $3/student, $2/adult

Get up close to the Zoo’s tallest residents when you feed the giraffes by hand. Zoo educators will answer your questions about giraffes and ensure that your students become giraffe experts!

Cost: $3/adult & child

Four different lunch selections are available for your group, and your order can be picked up at a pre-arranged time from the Ridley-Tree house Restaurant. Zoo lunches must be ordered in advance; please see menu and order form for more information.

Field Trip/Group Options

Add one or more of these exciting options to make it a visit they will never forget!

Don’t miss a ride on the Zoo Train! Each round trip takes about 10-12 minutes and provides a peek at behind-the-scenes areas, as well as a new perspective on many of your favorite animal exhibits.

Train rides must be scheduled at the front gate upon your arrival; no advance scheduling is available. Certain events such as rain, maintenance, or unforeseen situations may affect train availability.

Cost: $3/adults, $2.50/children 2-12 ($2 off regular train tickets). Children under 2 ride free.
