Life is ever-changing in such awe-inspiring ways. Changes are happening at the Zoo as well, with our animals and the incredible lessons they teach us about nature and our world. As we get ready to open the new Discovery Pavilion, a 9,500-square-foot education facility, we are excited to announce that the Zoo’s award-winning educational programming is getting ready to expand.
Each time you visit the Zoo, you walk the pathways and lush gardens and observe our animals in their naturalistic habitats. Though your observations are an important first step in the learning process, we remain committed to creating a more robust educational experience for you.
The Zoo is building on our existing programs that raise awareness and increase understanding of the natural world to open new opportunities for learning. We hope to inspire you; instilling a sense of wonder about nature, we encourage you to become conservation stewards, helping to protect the special plants and animals of the Central Coast for future generations.
Just as life is ever-changing, so is the Zoo. We need your help to continue to make improvements for the animals and enhance opportunities to make your experience even more exciting and rewarding! Please consider making a donation through this year's unique annual appeal. When you donate, you’ll receive your very own caterpillar or butterfly canvas to decorate and return to the Zoo. Your one-of-a-kind creation will be on display for the grand opening year of the Zoo’s new Discovery Pavilion: A Place to Discover.
