Be a Part of the Bigger Picture
“When you have seen one ant, one bird, one tree, you have not seen them all.” ~ Edward O. Wilson
Every time you walk into the Zoo, you become part of a bigger picture, part of the landscape that helps us thrive. We want you to literally become part of the picture, too! When you donate to the One Ant, One Bird, One Tree campaign, your photo, along with those of hundreds of other Zoo Members and supporters, will be used to create a photo mosaic of our Zoo animals! The One Ant, One Bird, One Tree picture mosaic will be displayed in Discovery Pavilion at the Zoo for one year. Will you be featured as a spot on a giraffe? A feather on a flamingo? Or part of an elephant’s ear? Donate today to find out!
Donation amounts start at just $50. All funds donated to the One Ant, One Bird, One Tree appeal support animal care, including behavioral enrichment, veterinary needs, maintenance of the animals’ naturalistic habitats, and cultivation of our beautiful Zoo grounds.
Important notice: On December 16, the Senate passed HR 5771 which includes a one-year extension of expired tax provisions retroactive to January 1, 2014. This reauthorizes the IRA charitable rollover through December 31, 2014. Donors age 70 1/2 and older may transfer up to $100,000 from their IRA to a qualified public charity. The transfer will be made free of federal income tax and the gift qualifies for the donor’s 2014 required minimum distribution (RMD). Contact your administrators right away to take advantage of this before year’s end.
